The New Xbox App on iOS Will Stream Games From Console to iPhone

Microsoft is gearing up to release a major update to the Xbox app for iOS. It will be able to stream Xbox One games on the iPhone remotely. The smartphone will act as a screen and controller, while the console will take over other functions.

Microsoft has already released a beta version of the new Xbox app for iOS. This information was also confirmed by the Xbox project manager Harrison Hoffman. According to him, in order to be able to test the new product, you need to join the online service for wireless installation and testing of mobile applications TestFlight. The number of beta testers is limited, and the recruitment is already closed, but you can still register if inactive participants appear.

The app supports iPhone, iPad, and iPod with iOS 8 or later. The new Xbox app for iOS allows you to stream the user's purchased Xbox games, remotely install and uninstall games on the console, use chat, share game clips and screenshots, and much more. Now you will have the ability to start your console outside of your home without a sound or the Xbox light.

Remote Play is different from Microsoft's xCloud service, which streams games directly from servers rather than from your own Xbox One.
